Tim Boland is a Boston based lighting designer, programmer, and production electrician working across commercial and film production, corporate theater, and live events. Since graduating from Emerson College in 2009, he has collaborated with clients and production teams on projects throughout the U.S. and abroad.
His work ranges from crafting immersive looks for live audiences to carefully calibrating light for camera. Whether it’s creating an atmosphere that connects a company with customers and colleagues or by shaping the mood on set, his focus remains the same: support the story by illuminating its message.
A grandMA3 owner-operator, he combines extensive programming experience with technical skills such as Vectorworks drafting, rendering, and pre-visualization. Years of production experience have shaped Tims approach to design and execution, developing work that is creatively considered, technically sound, and practical to produce. All with the goal of carrying each project from concept through a well-executed show or shoot.
